Ridiculous PC nonsense

No seriously, it can't be 80% can it? Yes it can. Standards have gone down because teachers have to spend most of their lesson time dealing with behaviour. The pupils have not had a chance to listen to the teacher properly and thus the quality of the work is low. Pupils these days are not disciplined for doing no work and many get away with just a couple of lines in a whole hour.

Teachers get over this problem by giving the pupils very basic tasks 'dressed up' as harder tasks for the inspectors. This can be done by filling most of the information in on sheets for the kids, by giving it a fancy title. In reality, the work is still at primary level.

The work that teachers expect from Year 9 classes is often below the level expected from Year 6 pupils. Between Years 7 and 9 the quantity also decreases drastically.
